THE BALL FIELD SLABS , OLD QUARRY WALLS AND THE OVERLOOK AREAS AT WEST ROCK STATE PARK IN NEW HAVEN ARE NOW OPEN TO ROCK CLIMBING.

RMF has confirmed with City of New Haven Parks officials that the seasonal rock climbing closure is now lifted.

Climbers are welcome to return to the area effective 8/29/2020 provided they avoid routes where falcon activity and guano are visible. According to State of Connecticut biologist, any disturbance that causes nest failure could be a violation of the federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act.

Please practice LNT principles, park in designated areas, be polite to the neighbors and wear your helmet!
