Recreation Ecology for Climbers w/ Kel Rossiter
Header image: Christopher Beauchamp
Understanding how outdoor visitors impact the natural spaces they recreate in is what drives the field of Recreation Ecology. The field examines the role of education, regulatory, and site management tools and techniques in influencing positive recreational use and minimizing impacts to the resources and other users' experiences.
This presentation will focus on a framework for local climbing organization (LCO) leadership and volunteers to better understand how to promote responsible use among their climbing community. Though the field of Recreation Ecology is somewhat “academic,” this presentation will focus on “news you can use” and will be offered in an informal and interactive atmosphere.
